Manual Handling has long been a source of injury with Worksafe reporting that muscular stress from hazardous manual handling causes 33% of all serious claims.

Most jobs involve carrying out some type of manual task using the body to move or hold an object. Manual tasks cover a wide range of activities including stacking shelves, working on a conveyor line, handling animals, and entering data into a computer.

Workshop Objectives & Key Outcomes

P2 Group develops and facilitates group-based manual handling workshops specifically designed to cater for the varied roles within an organisation.

Manual Handling workshops are designed to up-skill workers in appropriate manual handling practices and lead to the reduction of workplace injuries and risk factors.

Delivered in an engaging and practical manner, all manual handling workshops are interactive and customised to the specific manual handling issues and processes within particular departments or environments.

The workshops are divided into two parts – Theoretical & Practical.  The Theory section of the workshop focus’s on important educational and best practice information.

The practical part of the session involves hands on activities, allowing staff to put theory into practice and apply knowledge within their specific work environments to imbed the learning.

Attendees will be provided with handout material for their future reference.

These workshops will cover the following:

  • Practical background in human anatomy and physiology
  • Ergonomics best practice
  • Safe manual handling methods
  • Specific manual handling hazards identification
  • Safe work procedures
  • Exercise, diet, and overall health
